He is retired from the the US Army Reserve. During his time in the Reserves he deployed at total of five times to Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq. In 2009 he left SIHF to start his own practice which opened in 2010. The practice is based on the ideas of Barbara Starfield MD, who was a pioneer in primary care research. With the help of other like-minded physicians from an organization called Ideal Medical Practice, founded by Gordon Moore MD, he has operated Barron Family Medicine to provide high quality primary care to his patients. He finds that access, continuity, comprehensiveness, and care coordination make a large difference in health outcomes regardless of socioeconomic status.
